ODPS Ohio Emergency Management Agency Disaster & Preparedness Grants Division

Disaster & Preparedness Grants Division

The Disaster & Preparedness Grants division is one of three divisions of the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

  • The Mitigation and Recovery branches provide essential training and technical assistance on how to mitigate or prevent future costly damages from disasters, and offer programs that assist in the recovery process after disaster has struck.
  • The Preparedness Grants Management branch oversees the management and use of federal homeland security grants for Ohio's 88 counties.
  • The Fiscal branch prepares the agency's budget, manages fiscal activities and the fiscal aspect of grants for homeland security, disaster recovery and other grants.

In addition to overseeing the four Ohio EMA branches, the Mitigation, Recovery, Preparedness Grants and Fiscal division director also serves as the deputy state coordinating officer during times of federal disaster declarations for the state of Ohio.
